Iloilo City Celebrates World Barber Day
As part of the global celebration of World Barber Day, the city of Iloilo in the Philippines delivered one of the most impactful community initiatives of the year through its Haircut Para sa LAHAT programme. Organised by the Blue Angels Association of Iloilo City in partnership with the Mayor’s Office, the event provided free grooming services to members of the local community while highlighting the positive social impact of the barbering profession. The initiative embodied the core values of World Barber Day by using the craft of barbering as a force for connection, confidence, and community support.
Seeing barbers, volunteers, and local organisations come together in this way demonstrated how the profession transcends borders, cultures, and languages. The success of the programme stands as a powerful example of how the global barbering community continues to unite each year on 16 September to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The Borno State Barbers and Hairdressers Association
In Maiduguri and across the wider Borno region, the Borno State Barbers and Hairdressers Association is the local chapter representing grooming and beauty professionals. Like its sister chapters across Nigeria, the Association works to regulate industry standards, standardise fair pricing, and advocate for the welfare of the barbers and salon operators who keep their communities looking — and feeling — their best.
