The Grafton Barber, Ireland’s largest chain of family-owned barber shops, has championed barbering as a force for good since brothers Hugh and Conor McAllister opened their first Grafton Street shop in 1993.

In 2017, the McAllisters took that ethos global by founding World Barber Day, marked every September 16th — a date chosen to echo 1096, the year barber-surgeons formed their first organisation and proof that barbers have always been more than just haircutters.

On World Barber Day, barbershops worldwide open their doors as usual but with a charitable twist, encouraging clients to donate, via the charity platform of their choice.

The movement has grown from a single day into a global celebration of the craft, care and community behind every cut, uniting barbers across continents behind one shared cause.

Rooted in that same spirit, The Grafton Barber continues to deliver gold-standard gents’ barbering across more than 60 locations in Ireland and the UK — and to prove that a simple haircut can spark something far greater.
